Every girl needs a bestie, that special someone who knows you in all of your madness & still loves you despite seeing uglier days {~literally...eww lol~}. That wonderful woman happens to be my sister from another mother Shakira Marshall, affectionately known as Kira {~GT Massive stand up!~}
Needless to say Kira & I have been working together for more than half of our lives thru early dance career endeavors to splitting pathways as she continued working with some of the entertainment industry's greats including Lauryn Hill, Alison Hinds, Elephant Man, The Roots, Jill Scott, Seun Kuti and FELA on Broadway just to name a few. On the other hand I picked up a camera in 2004 and never looked back...
I present to you my first & favorite muse as we worked together again in commemoration of everything friendship, sisterly love & our career paths have taught us. We of course picked our picturesque neighborhood of Cambria Heights in Jamaica Queens where the magic began. A little chill spot natives like to call "Sugar Hill" overlooks Belmont Racetrack & the Cross Island Parkway. We somehow both rocked our late summer dresses, naturally falling in sync as besties often do. Kira is dressed in a neutral lacey above the knee dress with skinny brown leather belt, strappy camel & gold sandal & her signature bamboo earrings {~ A Queens staple~}. I opted for a black & white checker print with sunshine yellow cardigan paired with a velvet black cutout peek~a~boo toe wedge & my Mom's vintage pearls. Both of us grabbing our fedoras to complete these fun, semi-polished comfy and confident looks, bringing in the Fall the right way. Fun, Fancy, Fierce, Flyy.
